Behind the Scenes

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to use this week to talk about something I have been working on for awhile now, which finally went live not to long ago. I started a podcast called "The Music Box".

"On a dark and stormy night, a Lore Master finds an old forgotten Music Box. But this is no ordinary Musical Box, it has a certain magic about it;
Magic that transports the listener to another time."

Sounds great, right?

From the start of this project till now I've learned a lot and have had many a headaches trying to figure the ins and outs of a podcast... and I'm still figuring it out but the headaches have eased up a bit, which is nice.

I wanted to give you a look behind the scenes today and focus on the people who are working with me on this project.

When I first started, I had the idea that I would do most of the voices. I later found out that's a lot of work and I didn't have the range I thought I did.

It was a sad day.

However, my fiancee knows more people than I do and thought it would be a good idea to introduce me and get a conversation going. She got me touch with a friend of hers who was into composing music, Eugene Bycok. It was a great start due to the fact that I needed music for this project and had no skills in that area except the occasional humming.

I approached him with the idea and we started talking and decided to make it happen. Turns out we had no idea what we were doing.  But we had the script I wrote and music ready to go.

Headaches started around this point.

As time went on and new people joined in, everything was starting to make sense and we were creating something we could call our own. We even dabbled into the world of Foley and decided to make our own sound effects, you know, to add more stress. Turns out Foley is our favourite part.

We have a project that we are proud of and that challenges us everyday we move forward with it.

I'm not going to lie to you, I'm a pretty happy guy now.

I want to extend my thanks to the following; Susan Del-Mei, Eugene Bycok, Daniel Pauley, Adrian Young, Nikolas Yuen, Christian Milanovic, and Joey Graff. Plus to the countless others that endured me while I asked over and over again what they thought.

I couldn't ask for a better team.
